What is the best way to get rid of Purple Martins?
Our neighbor has one of those stands that attract the same birds every year. Well last year the birds starting attacking us and the dogs to where we not only could not enjoy our backyard- we couldn’t even let the dogs out. Then there’s the issue of the dead baby birds and random dead purple martins in our yard. I heard getting a barn swallow nest would help keep these birds away from my kids and dogs. Does anyone know about this? Advice Please!?
By the way- they do not eat mosquitos. That is a myth. We have the same amount as we did the year before they got the house next door. The birds are attacking my kids, dogs as well as the other neighbors. The birds have got to go… I will try the owl.

Put up a fake owl on a post in your yard. Also try some rubber snakes on your house or garage roof

Purple Martins are great birds. They are members of the Swallow family. They eat insects — very valuable if you like your summers less buggy. In the bird world, their enemies are House Sparrows and those disgusting Starlings.

Some avian enemies of the purple martin are the English sparrow and starling. However in the site that i visited the purple martins were useful in getting rid of bugs and other birds, so not much help with getting rid of them. sorry.
