I was watching an episode of The Most Extreme the other day, and I remember seeing a cute little black bird they were talking about. I don’t know the name of it though.
The episode was 72, Bodysnatchers, and it was in the section with the cuckoo, because the way they saved these birds from near extinction (there were only five at the time scientists came in) was by putting their eggs in other birds’ nests. I think the bird lived in New Zealand.
Does anybody know what the name of the bird is? (A picture link would help, seeing as I remember what it looked like.)
Was it the chathem island black robin.

"Black robin Petroica traversi
The black robin was the world’s rarest bird, and is New Zealand’s comeback hero from the brink of extinction. Extinction could not have been any closer in 1980 when there was one female named Old Blue and her breeding partner and three other males, but the black robin has been brought back to a population of about 254."
