We live in Chicago and have found a tropical bird with an identification band. Help me find out how to hook up with the owners of their pet.
I douibt if it will help any. Most leg bands are for the breeder to keep track of the bird as far as hatch date, parents, cage, vaccines, and shipping. They do keep track of the pet stores they sell to, but in most cases, a leg band will not help you find the owner unless it is a small bird like a love bird or something. Some small time breeders actually have their names on the bands. Please read my profile.
where i can find a list of North American Birds and a recording of their calls, maybe?

Seen in upstate NY in late February 2009. A group of birds landed in a tree, and some of them went to the ground and started pecking around. They were larger than robins and their bellies were rounded.
Sounds like they WERE robins, see more info below:

I have 2 finches; one male and one female. They’ve been chasing each other around the cage for the last few minutes biting at each other and fighting. The female keeps running the male in the nest. They were fine earlier. What’s wrong now?
jus like people they get sick of each other….or he might want to mate and shes saying no…also like humans lol…..i had two finches and when they female was layin eggs one got stuck and he was so mean to her picking on her and pushing her outta the nest….unfortuantlely she couldnt pass the egg and she died…but ya form time to time birds will fight or bicker wit each other….jus like any other animal and human..they should be ok unless he starts to really injure her or somethin then i would seperate them
What types of birds are there in Livingston County, Kentucky? I’m needing at least 2 different types.
- Does anyone have any websites to help me find out?
Here is a website for Kentucky’s Species Information for Public Hunting Area Livingston County WMA and State Natural Area. It lists birds as well as other animals http://fw.ky.gov/kfwis/arcims/WmaSpecies.asp?strID=9117
Watch the predators team analyse the keen sense of hearing and ideal hunting body shape of the owl. Their satellite-shaped head means that the penalty for rustling is almost always death. Watch some of the most amazing animals on the planet with BBC Worldwide.

This is Chook, our male Superb Lyrebird at Adelaide Zoo. We’ve had a lot of construction going on lately and Chook has picked up many of the sounds.
You can find out more information on Chook and download free Chook ringtones here: http://tinyurl.com/n42w79 .
We think we can hear the following sounds:
1. Hammer
2. Chainsaw
3. Jack hammer
4. Lawn mower hitting sticks
5. Leaf blower starting
6. Power drill
7. Wood saw
8. Human voices
9. Two-way radio
10.Worker whistling
He makes lots of different bird calls as well. What can you hear?
